Help for: multiplay
Multiplay is illegal
(Last Modified: Sat Apr 12, 2008)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4.) Multiplaying
4.0) The Moral of This Story
The short version of this entire help file is basically
"Don't share anything with your other characters and don't
do anything that specifically affects your other characters."
4.1) Multi Logging
No multiple logons of your own mortals at any time in any
way whatsoever. This will result in an immediate slay and
loot of both characters. Period.
4.2) Character Sharing/Giving
A character that you create is yours and yours alone. You
may not share your characters with other people, or let
them level you while you're at school or any such sharing.
You may also not give your characters away. If you do not
want them, delete them.
4.3) Multiple Clans
If one of your characters is in a clan, none of your other
characters may be in a different clan. They may be unclanned,
however.
4.4) Equipment Transferring
It is strictly illegal to move any equipment from one of
your characters to another one of your characters by any
arrangement. All characters involved will be slain and
looted. This includes leaving items in your pit to be
picked up later, giving items to your friends to give your
alt later, or handing equipment to a linkdead alt. It is
all very illegal.
4.5) Quest Enhanced Equipment
Quest points can not be traded between mortals. However,
you can give a weapon to someone else for them to spend
their quest points on to benefit you. If a character of
yours has spent quest points to enhance a particular
weapon, then no alt of yours can use that particular
object as a result of any trade on purpose. If they
happen to come across it by looting then so be it. Trying
to create an accidental coincidence in which an alt loots
a weapon a character of yours enchanted, not only will you
be looted, but you will probably be laughed at too.
4.6) Information Sharing
Information is not to be transferred from one mortal to
another. While this cannot be completely enforced, if
you switch characters and end up finding someone in some
obscure place that the new character has no excuse knowing
about, thats just not right. In general this rule
obviously is not strictly enforced as its not possible to
completely just up and not know something. But if it is
stupidly abused then that will be a problem.
4.7) Linkdead Characters
Characters that go linkdead are still considered to be
live characters on the mud. The body still exists in the
world and in some circumstances the mud will not yet know
that you no longer have link. If you drop link with a
character Purposely and then log on another, this will be
considered multilogging and will be dealt with accordingly.
4.8) Deleted Characters
Deleted characters in essence are still considered to
exist as far as the placement of your equipment. In
other words even if you remove your equipment and leave it
behind and delete that character entirely, other alts of
yours are still not allowed to use that equipment. Even
if you delete a character and recreate with the same name,
the equipment you may have left behind is off limits to
you entirely.
4.9) Static IPs
All characters that log on from the same IP address will
be treated as the same person unless we are otherwise
notified before any altercation that may arise. If you
are on a system in which multiple people are forced to use
the same ip address and don't wish to be looted for eq
transferring or multilogging, please write a note to the
IMP staff (Nalgas Kirushi Podunk Foom) explaining the
situation.
