Physical resilience (PHY) is a measure of how resistant you are to physical
damage.  Armor and physical resilience work together, one protecting your
body from blows, and the other toughening your body itself.  All physical
damage you take is reduced by an amount proportional to how resilient you
are.  Unlike magical resilience, you aren't given a chance to totally avoid
an attack, but the damage reduction is greater.  Physical resilience also
increases the rate you heal, since the tougher your body is, the better it's
able to bounce back from injury.
